In partnership with our sister organization, Tides Foundation, we can ensure that US donations to Canadian charities generate a US charitable receipt. US institutions, such as foundations and corporations, wishing to support Canadian charities, including those which can only give to US 501c3 organizations, can also take advantage of this unique service.

If your organization is not established to receive donations in the United States and you have US donors who wish to receive tax benefits for donations to your organization -- Tides Canada can help.

Here’s how it works:

• U.S. donors may contribute to the Tides Canada Exchange Fund at Tides Foundation in the U.S. using a specific template to accompany the gift

• U.S. donors request that Tides Foundation make a grant recommendation to Tides Canada Foundation in support of your charity

• Tides Foundation provides an acknowledgement letter within three to six weeks of receipt of the donation that can be used for U.S. tax purposes.

• Tides Foundation allocates 1.5% of the gift for core administrative services.

All grant recommendations to Tides Foundation in the U.S. must be $1000 U.S. or greater.
